NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
TOWN OF HOPEWELL RESIDENTS
The Hopewell Town Board has scheduled a Special Election, for Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Hopewell Town Hall, located at 2716 County Road 47, Town of Hopewell, between the hours of 12:00 p.m. (noon) and 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of voting by ballot on the following proposition:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
"Shall the Town Board demolish the existing town hall (except for the foundation of the existing West Building) and construct a new town hall at 2716 County Road 47 in the Town of Hopewell, all at a cost not to exceed $1,517,140?"
This project, if approved, would be bonded for 15 years with a cost to the taxpayers not to exceed 25¢ per $1000 of assessed value per year. For example: A property assessed at $100,000 would pay an additional $25.00 per year in town property taxes. Detailed information and preliminary drawings of the new structure are available for review in the Town Clerk's Office. Residents are encouraged to contact Town Board members with questions and concerns regarding this special election.

All residents of the Town of Hopewell, who are otherwise qualified to register as a voter under New York State law, whether such resident has or has not in fact registered, are qualified to vote at this special election.
